Research Projects
We do more than build satellites. Alongside some of the brightest minds in the space industry, Reflex has contributed to and led innovative research studies and projects to advance the space industry. Take a look at some of our project-based work.
Additive Manufacturing
By combining the power of generative design (using AI-driven optimization processes to design components) and additive manufacturing, our project, ESAF, is primed to introduce significant reductions in mass, production time, and cost.

Flat Sats
This was a study project to analyze the current and potential future applications of High-Aspect Ratio (HAR) satellite configurations. This project was led by Space Tec Partners (now Novaspace) SRL and conducted in collaboration with Initium Space Consulting. This project was funded by the European Space Agency as part of the future preparation element under Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems (ARTES) program.
Responsive Space
The SmartSat SpaceLink project was a major stepping stone towards enhancing our in-house dual-use platform production capability to prepare for upcoming responsive space needs. Isar Aerospace was the main Project Coordinator and this unique mission was funded by the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie and coordinated by IABG.

IRIS² Study
Reflex was selected by the European Commission to develop an implementation plan for a secure European broadband network in space. The study for this ambitious project was commissioned to give detailed recommendations and the architecture for high-speed, future-proof broadband across Europe.
